The requirements for my installer are that when the installer is run in unattended mode, the root password must be supplied as a command line parameter. I do this using a passwordParameter. The problem I'm having is in running external programs in Ubuntu that require sudo. I have tried to use sudo -S and supply the password using the <stdin> parameter for <runProgram>. This is not working. I'm having to resort to running echo and then pipe the password to sudo -S. The problem there is that I cannot keep track of the exit code of the script I want to run...echo returns successfully each time regardless of what happens after the password is piped. Has anyone dealt with an issue like this? Looking for suggestions!
