    Hi James,

Please note that while multiple distributions are migrating from the SysV init system to systemd on their newer versions, systemd has a compatibility mode for init.d scripts, so just rewriting your service header using LSB-style stanzas should make it compatible:

    ### BEGIN INIT INFO
    # Provides: <your service name>
    # Required-Start: <any services your service may depend on, e.g. networking>
    # Required-Stop: <list of services that should be stopped only after your service is stopped>
    # Default-Start: 2 3 5
    # Default-Stop: 0 1 6
    # Short-Description: <a short description of your service>
    # Description: <your service description>
    ### END INIT INFO

In any case, we acknowledge the issue and have plans to improve it.

Regarding the unanswered case, we completely missed it. The user that posted the question may have written us to our private support system and we forgot to respond here. We will investigate it.

    Best regards,

    Michiel
