It is not possible to use transparency in the splash image. The image is put on top of window background - which is white in your case, but can vary depending on operating system and mode.

It is recommended to use a non-transparent image.

Qt supports transparent Splash Screens. You could provide transparent installer splash screens at least on the platforms that support it. It is 2013 for god sake and transparent splash screens are around for ages. I would expect to read that you plan on doing something here and not that it is not possible, BitRock. Sorry, if I sound too harsh. This is basic expectation from any software and especially an installer. I needed this functionality and did not expect the answer I found here. I am sure I am not the only one.

It has been 5 months since the post by juanjo suggesting a transparent png could eventually be used for the splash. Is there an ETA on when this feature may be implemented?

No, it has not been implemented. No, there is no ETA on it being implemented. :(

They sent me an email in response to my last post.

Please add us to the wish list for this feature, even if the option was only available for Windows it would be useful.

Sorry, the Qt version is not really an option for us.
